Health Information Services Health Screenings Carmichaels Area District Policy Section: Pupils Title: 209. Health Examinations/ Screenings Growth Screening - completed for all students in Grades K – 12. A growth screening letter will be sent home to all parents. This will include the Body Mass Percentile which is used as a guideline to help assess whether a person may be overweight or underweight. Hearing Screening - completed for students in Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 7, and 11. This screening is not a substitute for an audiology examination by your health care provider. If you child fails this screening, a referral will be mailed home. Hearing Screening Procedures manual
Vision Screening - completed for all students in Grades K-12. This screening is not a substitute for a comprehensive eye examination by an eye care specialist. If your child fails this screening, a referral will be mailed home. Vision Screening Procedures manual
Scoliosis Screening - completed for all students in Grades 6 and 7. The purpose of the screening is to detect any abnormal curvature of the spine. If an abnormal result is found a referral will be mailed home.
