The mission of Carmichaels Area School District, in partnership with family and the community, is to improve and enhance the quality of instruction, curriculum, education, administration and management by organizing and supervising the infusion of technology and by providing an affordable, first class technology infrastructure.

The curriculum has been enhanced through the internet and writing enablers such as word, and electronic tutors like Type to Learn, Accelerated Reading, and Cognitive Tudor.

Non-traditional classes such as C++, Java, and Web design are preparing students for new jobs.

Teachers have become more effective by using new technologies to reduce time spent on non-teaching periods spent on copying notes, typing, printing, lesson planning, and reporting.

Administrators work more efficiently through virtual automated class scheduling, purchasing, budgeting, and e-mail connections with teachers.

At home, students, parents, and staff benefit from Internet based tools which give parents and students access to student records (PIAM), and home access to school printers.

First Class means reasonably modern software and hardware which provide speed and reliability to facilitate classroom and office work, minimize downtime, comply with State, Board, legal, moral and ethical usage requirements such as mail content filtering and unacceptable web site blocking, and providing security from misuse and abuse.
