Mr. Willis
teaches chemistry to seniors and juniors who wish to take it as an
elective. Labs are an important
part of the class and it helps students to visualize the information they
are studying along with cooperating as a group. |

Q:
How do the computer stations help with the labs?
|
A:
Digital data collection is quicker and more accurate and quicker.
Graphs are in Real Time so students can see what is happening as it is
happening.

How has technology, in general, affected your class? |
A: It
makes labs more efficient, and provides more time for lab data
analysis. |

Q: How often would you say the
technology is utilized? |
A:
Students complete one lab per unit, so students are in the lab once a
week. Demos are also done on the computer. |

Q: Can you tell us more about
the lab stations?
|
A: We use Pasco interfaces with
Data Studio software for data collection. Pasco has also released
PasPort Xplorer GLX which is a hand held mobile data collecting unit.
It is basically a mini-computer
