Florida Trip
Stuck in the doldrums of the depressingly cold winter months, the Carmichaels Area Sr. High Band and Chorus had the opportunity to embrace some Florida sunshine this past April during their annual trip. With countless hours of rehearsals, not to mention countless hours spent sitting on a bus, their arrival in Orlando was filled with overwhelming angst, their departure with overwhelming accomplishment. The Chorus, both the concert choir and ladies ensemble, received excellent ratings via the prestige panel of judges. The band was deemed the best marching band, and also received recognition for presenting the best overall drum line.
Aside from the competition, the group had the opportunity to experience the attractions Orlando famously has to offer. "Florida was a great experience for me, I've never been to Disney before and it was a lot of fun spending the week with all my friends. The judges were very kind and seemed to enjoy interacting with us. Even on limited hours of sleep, we still learned a lot and still managed to enjoy ourselves, " said senior chorus member, Jessica Husman. All in all, the trip was a major success.
